Team Selection Process

The PlayStation Platinum Cup Powered by the Toronto Maple Leafs and GTHL Tournament Team Selection Committee (TSC) will select teams from all applications received prior to May 31, 2017.  Tournament applications are now being accepted.  Link to our online registration portal can be found below.

All teams, once they have submitted their online application, must submit a Team Resume to Josh Hamilton at the GTHL office – Manager, Membership Services and Events.  Said Resume should include a brief outline of the team’s history/accomplishments along with a brief “essay” stating why this team should be included into the Platinum Cup Powered by the Toronto Maple Leafs and GTHL.

In making final selections of the included teams into the PlayStation Platinum Cup Powered by the Toronto Maple Leafs and GTHL, the TSC will weigh the provided Resume with the current standings for all teams and will determine the most suitable teams based on these factors.  Notification of selected teams will be by Tuesday June 6, 2017.

The formula for part b) of the tie breaker in the standings is: GF / (GF + GA)
For instance, if Team A has 12 GF and 5 GA and Team B has 13 GF and 4 GA then Team B would win the tiebreaker:
Team A: 12 / (12 + 5) = 12 / 17 = .706
Team B: 13 / (13 + 4) = 13 / 17 = .765
