The Tournament
The Bauer Challenge Cup hosts the most talented Peewee players from Canada and the USA. Since 1978, graduates from this tournament include Steve Stamkos, Jason Spezza, Patrick Kane, Rick Nash, Mike Cammalleri, Eric Lindros, Brendan Shanahan, Adam Graves, and the list goes on. The talent is so great, even famed CBC personality Don Cherry frequents the tournament to take in the exciting action.
When and Where
December 27th through December 30th. The tournament takes place at the Hershey Centre in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada
Tournament Format
Quality is better then quantity as a total of 16 major Peewee AAA teams will participate in the 2009 tournament. Each team plays in one of 4 divisions. The tournament consists of a round-robin format with each team being guaranteed four games. The fourth game comes at the conclusion of the Preliminary round where the 1st and 2nd place teams in each of the four divisions advance to the Quarter-Finals of the Championship round. The 3rd and 4th place teams from each of the four divisions advance to the Quarter-Finals of the Consolation round.
All games will be run under Stop Time. Game length will be as follows:
Round Robin, Quarter, and Semi-Finals - 12-12-15 minute periods
Gold Medal Games - 12-12-15 minute periods
Teams Selection
The Bauer Challenge Cup International Major Peweee Tournament Team Selection Committee selects out of town teams from many entries. Teams from Toronto, Michigan, Boston and Illinos must meet qualification requirements set out by the committee. Teams may apply to the "invitational" event, however, the committee reserves the right to select from the list of applications. Teams must be affiliated with one of the following: CHA, USA Hockey or IIHF.

Eligibility
The 2009 tournament is open to players born in 1997 only.
Headquarters Hotel
All accepted teams will receive Headquarters Hotel brochures and pre-regisration forms.
Application Form and Entry Fee
Any team wishing to apply for entry into the Bauer Challenge Cup International Peewee Major Tournament must complete an Application Form, provide a resume of the past seasons accomplishments along with the entry fee of $850 to:
