Inaugural U-21 “AAA” All-Star Game to be Held January 26

The GTHL has released details surrounding the first ever U-21 “AAA” All-Star Game. The match-up will see top talent from the GHTL U-21 “AAA” division face off against the OMHA Juveniles. Rosters will feature players from all three GTHL teams in the U-21 division.

The U-21 “AAA” division, previously known as the Juvenile division, dates back to 1911 when the THL (now GTHL) was founded. There were previously eleven all-star games that took place under the Juvenile division. This will be the first all-star game under the division’s new name.

“U-21 hockey is aimed at the players who want to continue to enjoy organized hockey while attending college or university or starting a career,” said Toronto Colts Head Coach, Bruce Sturley. “It is sensitive to the time commitments that a young player is now facing and yet still provides a very strong competitive league.”

Sturley adds that he encourages all Midget-aged players to get out and experience the excitement of competitive U-21 hockey once they graduate out of the Midget age group.

The U-21 “AAA” All-Star Game will take place on Friday, January 26, 2018 at Scotiabank Pond. Puck drop will be at 7:30 pm. Admission is free.
