Some surprises and familiar foes in various divisions around the G. See who came out on top this weekend.

Minor Atom A

York Mills remains the lone undefeated team in the East after going 8-0-2 to start the season. With a game in hand, North Toronto (7-1-1) is quicking chasing that first place position after winning their fourth straight over the weekend. The division remains tight heading into the third month of the season, with the top four teams all within four points of one another. Teams should also be keeping an eye on the East Enders Ticats (5-4-1) who have won three of their last four games, including a 7-5 victory over the Hillcrest Canadiens (3-5-2) on Sunday.

Even after having the weekend off, the Greater Toronto Capitals (9-0-0) remain the only undefeated team in the West. After nine games played, the second place Toronto Eagles (7-2-0) surrendered their second loss of the season to the third place Duffield Devils (6-1-0). The Devils are currently only two points behind the Eagles with two games in hand. A set of wins over the weekend also saw the West Mall Lightning (5-2-0) move up the standings. The Lightning have now won three of their last four.

Minor Peewee AA

Any preconceived notions that were established about teams in the East during the 2016-17 season have been completely thrown out the window to start the 2017-18 campaign. After squeaking into the playoffs last season, the Toronto Shamrocks have started this season with a bang, going 8-1-0 to take first place. Despite a slow start, the reigning division champions, North Toronto, managed to record a win on Sunday, improving their record to 3-6-0.  Teams should watch out for the second place West Hill Golden Hawks (6-1-2) who have now won four of their last five.

After a second round playoff exit last season, the Mississauga Jets (6-1-3) have flown to the top of the West, winning back-to-back games over the weekend. The Jets will have to keep up their winning ways if they want to stay on top – the Streetsville Tigers (6-1-2), Vaughan Panthers (6-1-3), and Toronto Royals (7-3-0) all sit within one point of the Jets. Will the Tigers repeat as regular season and divisional playoff champions, or will the Minor Peewee year belong to someone else?

Peewee AAA

After falling to the Jr. Canadiens (5-3-1) in the second round of the Scotiabank GTHL Playoffs last season, the Mississauga Reps (9-0-1) remain the only undefeated team after ten games played. The reigning Scotiabank GTHL Playoff Champions, the Toronto Titans (6-2-1), are sitting comfortably in second after defeating the Vaughan Kings (4-5-1) on Saturday. The Titans have won three of their last four and are one point ahead of the Toronto Marlboros (5-3-2) with a game in hand.
