‘Tis the season for hockey. Tournaments, games, and an international tournament highlight the month of December.

International Silver Stick – Vaughan Regional
December 2 – December 4

Local teams across all single A divisions will compete over the three day event taking place in rinks all across Vaughan. Winners of the regional event will advance to the finals, taking place in January in various locations across the province.

Paul Coffey Invitational
December 2 – December 4

Hosted by the Mississauga Jets, the Paul Coffey Invitational sees AA teams from Minor Atom to Midget compete over three days. The 31^st rendition of the event will see teams take to the ice at both Westwood Arena and the Hershey Centre in Mississauga.

GTHL Top Prospects Game Powered by Under Armour
December 13

Over 1000 spectators will pack Scotiabank Pond to witness the 8^th Annual GTHL Top Prospects Game Powered by Under Armour on December 13. The event will showcase the top 40 Minor Midget AAA players from around the League. Event alumni include Connor McDavid, Mitch Marner, Max Domi, and more. Tickets can be purchased online at or at the GTHL office starting on December 3.

IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship
December 26 – January 5

The best Under-20 players from 10 countries will set out on a quest for gold starting on Boxing Day. Canada will compete in round robin competition in Toronto before heading to Montreal for the medal rounds. Tickets are now available.

GTHL Challenge Cup
December 27 – December 30

The GTHL Challenge Cup plays hosts to 24 of the most talented Peewee AAA teams from around Canada and the United States. Since 1976, the tournament has seen the likes of Steven Stamkos, Patrik Kane, Rich Nash, and many more compete to take home the ultimate prize.
