Teams were looking for ways to gift themselves with some early presents on the last weekend before Winter break. See scored some early holiday gifts.

Minor Atom A

It was a showdown between the top two teams in the East, as the first place Forest Hill (18-1-5) squad squeezed by the second place Willowdale Blackhawks (14-3-4) with a 1-0 victory. Forest Hill now has a nine point lead over the Blackhawks.

The third place Leaside Flames (14-7-2) narrowly missed an opportunity to tie the Blackhawks in points after a tight 6-4 loss to the North York Knights (12-7-3). Teams should be keeping an eye on the Knights, who have now won three straight.

In the West, the second place West Mall Lightning (13-4-3) extended their winning streak to four after a 10-1 victory over the Greater Toronto Capitals. The Lightning now sit seven points back of the first place Vaughan Rangers (18-3-0) with a game in hand. The Toronto Eagles (12-3-4) also continued their dominance of the division, winning their seventh straight game on the weekend. The Eagles are now one point back of second.

Minor Peewee AA

Much like their Minor Atom A counterparts, the Vaughan Rangers (16-1-1) are the kings of the Minor Peewee AA – West castle. The team notched their ninth straight after a win over the second place Mississauga Terriers (14-2-4). The Rangers now sit one point ahead of the Terriers with two games in hand. Teams should be watchful of the third place Vaughan Panthers (13-3-4) who won their seventh straight over the weekend.

In the East, the North York Knights (20-3-0) proved why they’re in first after defeating the second place Don Mill Mustangs (17-5-2) 5-2. The Knights now sit four points ahead of the Mustangs with a game in hand. The Leaside Flames (17-5-1) remain hot on the Mustangs tail after a 7-0 victory against North Toronto. The Flames are one point back of the Mustangs with a game in hand.

Minor Bantam AAA

After defeating the Jr. Canadiens on Sunday, the Toronto Young Nationals (18-1-2) now sit only one point back of the first place Don Mills Flyers (19-1-2) with a game in hand. The race will be tight going down the stretch as the third place Toronto Marlboros (14-1-6) are also heating up – winning their third straight on Friday. The Marlboros are six points back of first with a game in hand.
